Black Bond Hall is a small country house with an AA Four Star Bed and Breakfast rating. Set in beautiful and peaceful rural surrounds, Black Bond Hall is perfectly situated for easy access to both Colchester, Britain's oldest recorded town (5 miles), and Mersea Island, renowned for its sailing, restaurants and oysters (3 miles).

We offer two comfortable and charming double rooms both with en-suite and including tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV, WiFi and hairdryer. There is a further single room available.

Our guests enjoy a warm welcome with homemade cake, tea and coffee. Delicious breakfast is sourced from local produce and is served in either the modern breakfast room overlooking the gardern or the traditional dining room. We can recommend several local pubs for excellent evening meals.

A tennis court is available, and the area provides good cycling, walking and nearby attractions including Mersea Island, Fingringhoe Wick Nature Reserve, Abberton Reservoir Wildlife Centre, Abbotts Hall, Wigborough and Cudmore Grove Country Park at East Mersea.

We are a short distance from the Dedham Vale and Constable Country and the picturesque villages of the Essex/Suffolk border.

Rates

  • Two double rooms with en-suite - £75 per night per room including breakfast
  • Single occupancy of double room - £65 per night including breakfast
  • Additional Single room available

We are able to accept payment by cheque/cash, we do not have credit/debit card facilities.

Children are welcome, minimum age 12. Parking is within the property grounds. For the comfort of guests and safety reasons we are a non-smoking establishment. Sorry, no dogs.
